Terms of use

These terms explain how you may use Thermline’s website and free matching service. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Use of the site

Thermline provides general educational information to help homeowners learn about home insulation, air sealing, weatherization, and related topics. You may use this site for personal, non-commercial use.

You agree to use the site in a lawful way and not to interfere with the site, try to access areas you are not allowed to access, submit false information, or use the site to harm others.

We work to keep information clear and useful, but we do not promise that the site will always be available, error-free, complete, or up to date. Content may change at any time without notice.

Your use of the site is also subject to our Privacy Policy and our Disclaimer. If you have questions about these terms, you can reach us through our contact page.

Our free matching service

Thermline is a free matching service for homeowners. We help people connect with licensed and insured insulation installers near them. Thermline is not an insulation contractor, general contractor, installer, energy auditor, or licensed home-performance professional.

When you request to be matched, you agree to provide accurate project and contact details. We use that information to help connect you with insulation companies that may serve your area and project type.

Thermline does not perform installation work. We do not inspect your home, pull permits, supervise job sites, guarantee workmanship, guarantee scheduling, or guarantee that any installer will contact you, offer services, or accept your project.

Thermline is also not a party to any contract between you and an installer. Any estimate, scope of work, timeline, warranty, payment schedule, change order, or dispute is between you and that installer.

You are responsible for choosing whether to hire any installer. Before signing anything or paying a deposit, you should verify that the installer is properly licensed and insured for your area, confirm the job scope in writing, confirm the planned R-value, and follow local code and permit rules.

No professional advice

The information on Thermline is for general educational purposes only. It is not construction advice, structural advice, electrical advice, legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, or professional home-performance advice.

Any cost information on the site is a typical range or estimate, not a quote or bid. Actual pricing depends on the area insulated, the material used, the R-value target, the home’s age and access, whether old insulation must be removed, and your region.

Information about rebates, utility programs, and tax credits may change and may vary by state, utility, and program rules. Thermline does not guarantee that any program is available or that you will qualify. You should confirm current details directly with the program administrator, utility, or a qualified tax professional.

Because every home is different, you should rely on your own judgment and on the information provided by licensed and insured professionals you choose to hire.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Thermline provides the site and matching service as is and as available without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Thermline is not responsible for the acts, errors, omissions, products, services, pricing, scheduling, delays, permits, code compliance, inspections, warranties, safety practices, or workmanship of any installer or other third party.

Thermline will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost savings, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or damages arising out of or related to your use of the site, your inability to use the site, your reliance on site content, or your interactions or agreements with any installer.

If a problem happens with a project, estimate, contract, payment, or installation result, the issue must be resolved between you and the installer or other party involved.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version will apply to future use of the site after it is posted here.

Please review these terms from time to time so you understand the current rules for using Thermline. If you continue to use the site after changes are posted, that means you accept the updated terms.

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will still apply.

In plain English

In simple terms: Thermline gives general information and helps homeowners get matched with insulation installers for free. We do not install insulation, inspect homes, or give professional advice. If you hire an installer, your contract is with that installer, not with Thermline. You should verify licenses and insurance yourself, get the job details in writing, and review these terms from time to time because they may change.
